Research interests

My research focuses mainly on the evolution of cultivated plants and the dynamics of biodiversity. The developed projects integrate different levels of study: from the genome to the population level.

Currently, I participate in the project PlantEvol, on the biodiversity of plants in the sub-Antarctic islands, coordinated by F. Hennion of the University of Rennes. This project is funded by IPEV for field missions to the Kerguelen Islands. We are interested in the biodiversity of endemic plants of the Kerguelen Islands in changing environments.

Personally, I am particularly focalizing on Lyallia kerguelensis, which is only present on the island of Kerguelen. It is a cushion plant, on which little information is available.

A bank of microsatellite sequences at Lyallia was developped, thanks to funding obtained from the ZATA. About 50 pairs of primers have been tested for the validation of microsatellite markers in this species. 14 microsatellite markers are available for the genetic study of Lyallia.
